AK-47 - AUTOmatic :)

About 7 or 8 years back I read that this dude from Kakkanad paid more than a hundred thousand bucks to get the fancy registration number KL-7. AK-47 for his car at an auction of fancy registration numbers.  I saw this Autorickshaw today, its number - KL-7. AK 470 , has the same charm as the superstar  AK-47. Now I am sure he paid no extra bucks for that. Lucky guy, getting all the attention for free for which the rich dude had to pay.  I was careful not to overtake the Auto to catch it at the next signal for this pic.

Bicycle Diary. Vol. 1

I have  been cycling a lot these days. A lot lot.  Its like I have found my long lost love for cycling back, plus I am more into burning fat these days, specially my Love Handles :) . What took of as my regular 10kms ride yesterday evening,  ended up at  Aldrin’s place which is about 16kms away. So it was 32 kms both ways.  Aldrin is a rock music and blues fan and has bought this guitar a couple of weeks back.  So one of the reasons I went there was to download some of the guitar tutorials that you see on youtube since he has got a high speed internet with unlimited bandwidth ( Man, I love unlimited broadband internet) .  I have  copied some  on my pendrive and now I have a tutorial on  ‘Jumper’.  Jim Carrey is a star of stars. He was simply superb playing  ‘Jumper’ in that  movie ‘Yes Man’.  IMDB says that he learned how to play the guitar for this scene/this movie.  Fantastic it was.  It has become one of my favourite movie bits, but no where close to Chandrolsavam, my favourite movie.

Fishy Day.

Damn, I missed most part of it. Today was the day Jessal’s pond was being cleaned. In Malayalam we call it ‘Kulam Thekal’ (Kulam being pond and Thekal being a derivative of cleaning.) I was catching upon my lost sleep the previous night, so  I was tooooo late when I got at Jessal’s place.  Rakesh and Jessal was there, standing in the pond, clay-clad, like two barbarians standing with sticks and stuffs. It was a Fish Day as well. Big fishes all over the place, some outside the pond in a bucket, some  in a small water tank and some already dead which was in Jessal’s freezer. Fantastic it was. There was this real badass “Gurami” with its badass size of a backpack and with its weight of 6-7 kgs. I never knew a Gurami can grow that big. So bad that I was late for all the fun. Though I am a vegetarian I am going to have couple of those fishes this Sunday, on this special lunch that Jessal’s parents have invited us too. Its going to be feast of fresh water fishes. :)

Office Toilet, this morning.

Office Toilet, this morning.

Do you guys find this request funny?  It does sound funny when translated to my mother- tongue Malayalam.

Happy 2010 everyone.

Long time. Been lazy to blog, been working out, lost 3 kgs, happy with my new broadband connection, been meeting old pals, been busy being busy and deeply saddened by the news that a time punching machine is going to get installed at the office :)

X’mas outing.

We went for an outing from office yesterday at Ramada. There were 19 of us including Georgy’s family.  Being a 24/7 office we had to carry a few laptops and wi-fi internet stuff along, but being sunday, there was hardly any work, Thank God :) .  Truely enjoyable it was. The pool there is awesome and I am thinking about going back there once a while on sundays. I am uploading some pics on my orkut Guys.

At the end of the day our small group split off in Mohan’s car. Deepak accepted a No gracefully when we invited some of our beautiful friends for a coffee with us. No coffee, so we changed our plans and went off to the beautiful Wellington Island.

First Time Swimming??

I was at the pool today after a gap of more than a couple of months. Besides my swimming classes that I couldn’t complete, I am still not a good swimmer. The time I went there today, was the time for regulars and there was this 15 years old kid whom I think was watching me struggling with the water and came next to me and asked, “First time swimming?” . I said yeah and he started giving me tips on swimming. However, after about half an hour I sneaked out of the pool and got into the smaller pool nearby which is for kids :)

By the way, I dont believe that swimming is the one of the best forms of exercise like they say unless you are an exceptionally good swimmer.  Confirming my doubts, the regulars at the pool, even kids, was all overweight and all flab around their body.

Humanity wins.

I know that an ambulance with its sirens blaring means someone is struggling for his life, but the way how the whole traffic give way to it generously is a beautiful sight.   Its always good to see people acting together for a good cause, however small the cause is. I saw about 5 of them today.

By the way, pulling over to give way for an ambulance is not just a courtesy, its the law . You can get booked by the police or beaten by the public  if you don’t :)

A day of full of pain :)

Guys, I joined a gym yesterday and I woke up from the sleep today with an aching back, legs, shoulders and pretty much everywhere. I couldn’t even roll over to the other side of the bed or climb down the stairs without the pain. Being used to taking push-ups  at home almost daily,  I never expected this.  Feels good though :) I am looking at losing 5 kgs in 6 weeks which one of my fitness freak friend said very much possible. Wish me luck folks!!

Heart speak :)
